"Fear as a form of Honesty"

Fear has been compared/contrasted to "love" as its opposite rather than "hate."

Read article below and consider your own thoughts on "fear" as opposite or companion to "love."

To supplement this week's Torah Portion lesson, please be sure to visit the "Portion by Portion" update below.  Lots of great discussion regarding leadership, integrity and responsibility: a most timely and needed discussion among military leaders at this time.

SETTING A REGULAR TIME

TO LEARN TORAH

Each day, a special time for learning should be set aside both in the morning and in the evening. It is best to learn immediately after prayer and before going to work.

When the Second Temple was destroyed, Hashem forgave the Jewish people for the three worst sins (idolatry, murder and incest), but He did not forgive them for ignoring the Torah. This shows us how important it is to set aside time to learn.

Just as a person cannot live without food, the soul cannot live without Torah.
